The programme focuses on the research skills, technical knowledge and critical judgement needed to work in documentary photography and visual journalism. Participants explore how social, political, cultural and personal subjects can be developed into compelling visual narratives.
Teaching combines history, field practice, ethics, editing, captions, archiving and project presentation. Discussion and critique are central, with working photographers contributing professional perspectives on contemporary visual journalism.
