ΣΤΡΑΤΟΣ ΚΑΛΑΦΑΤΗΣ
Γεννήθηκε στὴν Καβάλα τὸ 1966. Ἀποφοίτησε ἀπὸ τὴ Γυμναστικὴ Ἀκαδημία τοῦ Ἀριστοτελείου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης τὸ 1987. Σπούδασε φωτογραφία στὸ Art Institute of Philadelphia στὶς ΗΠΑ τὸ 1991-1993. Ὅταν ἐπέστρεψε στὴν Ἑλλάδα, συνεργάστηκε μὲ τὸν Πλάτωνα Ριβέλλη. Διηύθυνε τὸν Φωτογραφικὸ Κύκλο Θεσσαλονίκης τὴν περίοδο 1993-1997. Ὑπῆρξε μέλος (1994-1997) τῆς Συμβουλευτικῆς Ἐπιτροπῆς γιὰ τὴν ἵδρυση τοῦ Φωτογραφικοῦ Μουσείου Θεσσαλονίκης. Τὸ 2000 τοῦ ἀνατέθηκε ἡ διεύθυνση τοῦ Φωτογραφικοῦ Κέντρου Σκοπέλου. Ἀπὸ τὸ 1990 ἐργάζεται ὡς φωτογράφος καὶ δάσκαλος φωτογραφίας. Ἔχει διοργανώσει πολλὰ σεμινάρια καθὼς καὶ ἐκθέσεις φωτογραφίας. Ἔχει ἐκδώσει τέσσερα φωτογραφικὰ λευκώματα στὶς Ἐκδόσεις Ἄγρα. Ἐκπροσωπεῖται ἀπὸ τὴν Gallery Bernier/ Eliades.
STRATOS KALAFATIS
Born in Kavala-Greece, in 1966.Graduate of the Physical Education Department – Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, 1987.
Studied Photography at the Art Institute of Philadelphia / USA , 1991 – 1993.
Upon his return to Greece, he collaborated with Platon Rivellis. Stratos directed PhotoCirce in Thessaloniki, 1993 – 1997.
During 1994 -1997 he was a member of the Consulting Committee for the establishment of Photography Museum of Thessaloniki.
In the year 2000, he was appointed the administrative directorship of the Photography Center of Skopelos Island.
Since 1990, Stratos works as a freelance photographer and photography teacher, organizing independent workshops.
He taught and organized a number of seminars and exhibitions.
He has published 4 books with Agra Publications / Athens.
Stratos is represented by Bernier/ Eliades Gallery Athens.
